Sentar Pressing Rope
Sentar provides the strongest, toughest polyflex pressing ropes.
Pressing ropes are 8mt long and made from 12mm abseiling braid, has a 24 strand woven cover with a 16 strand woven core with metal tips to fix the rope to rope hooks.
Tested breaking strain of 3000 - 3500kgs. High abrasion, low stretch.
Always check for sharp edges, right around the entire circumference of a woolpress (including underneath) before replacing a woolpress rope - most ropes break because of rubbing on an undetected sharp edge
Please check for sharp edges on the rope track as these will lead to fraying and will dramatically shorten the life of the rope.
Look for sharp pulleys and worn pulleys, sharp edges at the base of the press. Check that clamps are in place and ropes are even.
Metal tips: Metal tips are designed to make easy the attachment of the rope to the rope hook on the pulley. They are not designed to take pressing strain. The pulleys are designed to take pressing strain so ropes must be long enough to allow the rope to take at least one circuit of the pulley before any cap pressure is applied
Sentar ropes are manufactured from high quality materials and are well fit for purpose. The condition of the rope track that it operates in, will determine the length of life. Regular checking, and presser/operator observation, will assist geatly in safety around the press, along with the long life of the pressing rope.
